computer for bangladesh

Millions of school children across the globe are graduating without knowing how to use a computer, or benefitting from using the computer as an educational aid. The case of Bangladesh is no different, and moreover lack of resources in rural area schools is widening the digital divide between the rural and urban population. The Open Source Computer Education Program (OSCEP) is a low-cost, high impact solution based on open source software, which will attempt to promote computer education at primary and secondary schools in rural Bangladesh with some innovative hardware, software and project management solution. In addition to furthering computer literacy and computer-based education, OSCEP also intends to encourage adoption of open source design and promote the culture of volunteerism amongst youth in Bangladesh.
